Tammy York is an award-winning motivational speaker based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She is an accomplished public speaker, business owner, and author. Her book 60 Hikes within 60 Miles Cincinnati has sold more than 15,000 copies. Her work has also appeared in magazines such as Boys Life and Backpacker.
Tammy York’s career in public speaking, nature, and writing began with her childhood experiences of exploring the fields, creeks, and woods near her grandparent’s farm outside Connersville, Indiana. Her passion for the outdoors and “goofing off” brought her to Purdue University, where she graduated with a B.S. in Wildlife Management.
Mrs. York’s background includes professional training as a public speaker, she has more than 20 years of field experience and has worked in both the Indiana and Ohio Departments of Natural Resources, has presented programs to thousands of people, and been interviewed by the media more times than she can remember.
She quit her day job in order to spend more time with her family and pursue her passions. This lead her to start her business LandShark Communications, which provides marketing and public relations consulting for businesses.
Tammy York and her husband climbed Mt. Katahdin in Baxter State Park, Maine. Currently, they enjoy hiking with their daughters in state parks, wildlife areas, and forests in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
