Tammy York has presented to thousands of people and inspired them to get outside and enjoy nature. She knows that not everyone has the ability, for one reason or another, to experience what it is like to hike the 2,189 miles of the Appalachian Trail or the 2,650 miles of the Pacific Coast Trail.
She is an advocate for you to discover the natural areas that you can explore — after work, on a weekend, or during vacation. Even though the time on the trails is brief, the connection with your inner strength or with your loved ones lasts a lifetime.
Tammy has spoken to students and teachers, librarians, hiking enthusiasts, women’s interest groups, business professionals, retirement groups, associations, and writing groups. She inspires people to get outside and enjoy nature, reconnect, and to explore their creative abilities.
She is well versed in how difficult it is to get outside and to break free of the “norm”. Tammy quit her full-time job to start her own business, write 60 Hikes within 60 Miles Cincinnati and hike over 400 miles of trails with her two children who were 2 and 4 years old at the time, and stay present in her children’s daily lives. She counts her journey on Mount Katahdin as an important learning point in her 20 year marriage and her life. Tammy is a firm believer in setting goals and breaking those goals into manageable tasks, developing a can do mindset, and listening to the quiet voice within that knows you can accomplish your dreams.
